On offer is this lovely mid-20th century ceramic wall hanging plate. It was made in Norway in the mid-century era. It features a skute ship surrounded by sea birds. It was made by Arnold Wiggs Fabrikker, which operated between 1943 and 1977. This Norwegian plate is a squared circular, slightly concave form and has a matte black background, similar to 'black basalt wares'. The detail of the ship is glossy and glazed in high relief which creates a three-dimensional enameled-like effect. The plate is in all-around lovely condition. Ready to hang on the wall or place on a dresser.
Approximate measurements: 10.75" x 1.5".
