Vintage Signed Yves Saint Laurent Sapphire Gripoix Glass Clip-on Earrings

These classic earrings will never go out of style! These signed YSL gold-tone clip-on earrings feature beautiful sapphire colored, gripoix glass cabochons set in simple oval settings with a rope trim around the stones. These are gorgeous earrings!! I have not noticed any flaws and the clip-on backs are in perfect working condition. Each measures 1'H x .75"W.
About Gripoix Glass: All Gripoix glass jewelry is made by hand. It was in 1868 when it was first produced, and artisans in France are still making glass jewelry components now using the same techniques. Gripoix was used in Chanel, YSL, Dior, Givenchy along with other European couture houses. Other items may bear the Gripoix name, but many are termed Gripoix erroneously. It can take many man-hours to produce a single design. It was thus too expensive, and still is, to use these types of French glass crafted by hand in lower quality jewelry.
